Los Angeles has long been a city that values stories of resilience, diversity, and artistry. In that spirit, Dr. Dana is a voice worth listening to; not only for her music but for the powerful dual role she inhabits as both a physician and a musician. Based in Tampa, Florida, she is a breast radiologist at Moffitt Cancer Center by day and a soulful singer-songwriter by night. Through her work, she bridges two worlds that, at first glance, may seem unrelated but in truth share a common purpose:   healing.

For Dr. Dana, music has always been more than just a creative outlet, it has been a lifeline. Inspired by her grandmother, a Palestinian refugee who sang with passion and grace, Dana grew up with music as a form of refuge and expression. Yet as she pursued the long and demanding path of medicine, her artistic side was pushed to the background. That changed in 2020, when she joined The ReMissions, a band of Moffitt Cancer Center colleagues. Performing for advocacy and awareness reignited her love for music and reminded her that artistry could be just as vital as medicine in creating change.

Her solo work, however, has taken her mission even further. With songs like “Stage 4 Needs More”, “End the Confusion”, and “Not Alone”, Dr. Dana channels her physician’s perspective into lyrics that call for hope, healing, and action. “With ‘Stage 4 Needs More,’ I’m singing for urgency, our loved ones deserve more research, more treatments, and more time,” she explains. This blend of advocacy and artistry has become her hallmark, making her music resonate deeply with listeners who seek not just entertainment but inspiration.

Her upcoming EP, The Space Between, continues in that tradition. Blending soul, folk, rock, and jazz influences, the project explores themes of resilience, love, and community. The title itself speaks to the spaces between people; physical, emotional, and spiritual, and how music can bridge those divides. For Dr. Dana, songwriting is about giving voice to what so many feel but may not know how to express.

“Being a musician has taught me to be fearless in showing my true self,” she says. “That vulnerability makes me a better doctor and a stronger advocate. Both roles are about building trust and connection.”

That sense of connection extends to her performances. Whether playing in small venues, festivals, or advocacy events, Dr. Dana’s live shows feel intimate and personal. Her presence is less about spectacle and more about conversation, offering audiences an experience that feels healing in its own right.

Her story resonates especially strongly in Los Angeles, a city where creativity and community often intersect. As a Palestinian-American woman navigating both medicine and music, Dana represents the power of diverse voices in shaping culture. Her background enriches her perspective, infusing her songs with a depth that goes beyond the personal to touch on universal struggles and hopes.
