Understanding the Significance of 7/10 in Cannabis Culture
On 7/10, sometimes known as the other “high holiday,” a leading cannabis innovator shared some great information about production within the weed industry. Most consumers know about the notorious 4/20 and the celebration of the 7/10 holiday, which has recently been garnering a lot of interest, too. 7/10 is centered around concentrates and the oils found in the marijuana plant, which gives users an often better, more convenient, and more powerful way of experiencing THC.
“7/10” has been dubbed the day of this cannabis holiday because its characters resemble the word “OIL” when flipped upside down. The term evolved in the industry as a marketing tip for the new products in the form of vapes and dabs. The strong properties given by the use of concentrated cannabis extract come from resin or sap.
Inside STIIIZY: A Leader in Cannabis Innovation
Los Angeles Magazine recently toured the facilities of STIIIZY, one of the industry’s leading cannabis brands located in Downtown L.A. Boasting a 15% market share, STIIIZY is the one of the top brands for flower, extract, and vapes throughout all of California. The goal of the tour was to give visitors an inside look at the production of extracts and explain how these products are moved from grow rooms to manufacturing lines and onto the shelves in the retail market.
STIIIZY was co-founded in 2017 by CEO James Kim, a Cerritos, CA, army veteran and a business partner. In 2020, Kim revealed that the brand is derived from “the diversity of lifestyles and cultures in SoCal and is drawn from the California term ‘steez,’ which means style and ease.”
From the overall retail vibe to the vast selection of offerings, STIIIZY uniquely personifies Southern California. This flagship store is set up more like a department store than a cannabis shop, with attractive displays and a waiting area that is great for snapping some pictures. STIIIZY has additional storefronts in Koreatown, North Hollywood, Pacoima, and Long Beach.
LA Mag witnessed how STIIIZY’s rotational manufacturing is organized, from the worker assembly lines to the packaging of the products and the grow rooms in which the plants are taken care of. The team was clearly proud of what they were doing.
Adam Rios shared his journey with STIIIZY: “I have been with STIIIZY since 2022, though my involvement in the industry started in 2018 after cannabis was legalized.” He explained how he started from being an entry-level trimmer to a Lab Manager, moved by the passion for cannabis and the swift upward momentum the industry started picking up, both medicinally and recreationally. Adam says the company has given him the opportunity to do what he loves.
To celebrate National Dab Day, STIIIZY revealed a buy one, get one for a penny offer across all concentrated weed lines, including live resin, rosin, and wax, in-store and through its delivery service. For more information, go to www.STIIIZY.com.
