Although February retains plenty of cooler days, bundle-up nights, and other winter-style moments, it is an especially festive time of year.
With evenings suddenly seeming much brighter, nearly overnight, and holidays like Valentine’s Day and the Lunar New Year, the second month garners a pleasantly celebratory atmosphere. It’s as if the spirit of the summer ahead is peeking through, making a quick cameo months before its actual arrival.
Its vibrant feel makes February an ideal time to unveil lively events, and, in the case of the dazzling Disneyland Park parade, “Magic Happens,” it rejuvenates all the beloved occurrences that have proven so popular in the past. The parade meets all the criteria.
Initially launched in early 2020, “Magic Happens” returned for another engagement in February 2023. And it seems February will remain the designated month for this Main-Street-tacular, set to dance again through the center of The Happiest Place on Earth. The parade will begin on February 2, 2024.
Alongside the iconic Mickey and Minnie, numerous other characters, including Moana, Miguel, Anna, and Elsa, can be seen at the parade. Disneyland Resort announced the next Disneyland Park parade on December 21 — the first day of winter. The timing of the declaration serves as a reminder that even winter has its fancies at the Anaheim destination.
At “Magic Happens,” Mickey leads a procession of magnificent floats, fancifully costumed performers, and many famous Disney friends throughout the park and straight into your heart. The parade is marched to a high-energy contemporary musical score comprised of classical Disney hits with a spin. Prospective attendees need to know that the “Magic Happens” Parade may not always occur daily, and showtimes are subject to change.
Reservations for the theme park and valid admission for the same park on the same day are required for park entry. Park reservations are limited, subject to availability, and not guaranteed.
However, “Magic Happens” is not the sole early 2024 extravagance on the Disneyland Resort agenda. On January 8, one day after the holidays wrap at the resort, the nighttime show, “Mickey’s Mix Magic,” which features innovative, eye-catching projections, is set to begin. Another festive pre-summer treat, “Wondrous Journeys,” a springtime spectacular, will run from March 22 until April 14, 2024, and feature glorious fireworks shows.
“Mickey’s Mix Magic” is a limited-time event that will only run twice — from January 8 until March 22 and again from April 15 through 25. Those who attend “Mickey’s Mix Magic” can expect nothing less than magical songs, dazzling kaleidoscope projections, and alluring lights and lasers.
At “Mickey’s Mix Magic,” music lovers can look forward to watching DJ Mickey virtually spin remixed Disney tracks, such as:

- “It’s a Good Time”
- “Friend Like Me”
- “Un Poco Loco”
- “Let it Go”
